Year 7 Guide to the School Library
This was an English project, where Year 7 students worked in groups to plan, write and create a short film that showed aspects of the school library. During the project, students created scripts and storyboards before taking the roles of camera operator, director and actors to create their films.

Media Broadcast Centre - Phase Two
Existing floor tiles were stripped and removed, this revealed a flexible section of the floor which ran through the middle which was for the floor plugs. The new floor couldn’t be laid directly on to it because it would crack under the pressure of moving cameras and people walking on top of it. To get around the problem a special ‘cement’ was applied and then the new floor was laid on top of that.
When the floor was finished it was time to complete the studio portal and install the electrical points in the gallery. For the portal, the window was installed which consisted of two pieces of glass for sound proofing and an outer frame.
In the gallery, electrical plugs and wiring were installed , the desks were also fitted in both rooms, one in the gallery that curves around the room to house the recording equipment. The large desk that runs along the left hand side of the studio floor will accommodate 5 Mac Pro’s with dual screens.

Media Broadcast Centre - Phase One
This week, work began transforming what was formally called the ‘Lower 2’ room into a Media Broadcast Centre which will be a professional video/audio recording space. Next door the old conference room has been stripped to make room for the ‘gallery’, which will contain the latest hi-spec recording equipment.
The walls were stripped so the window portal between the two rooms could be fitted, this will allow people working in the gallery (editing, producing, audio) to see what is happening on the studio floor.
Once the portal was installed the walls were painted and the floors stripped of carpet tiles; the gallery floor had the same treatment making it ready for the wooden tilling.
The room is looking pretty impressive in such a short time, once the floor is finished its on to the cabling next.
